The Lock, the Taxi & the Furnace

Three things control whether your body can access and burn fat. Understanding each one explains why most fat loss approaches are incomplete, and what this program does differently.

The Lock

Insulin

  • Insulin is a hormone released every time you eat, especially when you eat carbohydrates
  • When insulin is high, your body switches into storage mode and stops burning fat
  • High insulin blocks the enzyme responsible for releasing fat from storage
  • High insulin = fat burning effectively paused until levels drop again
The Taxi

Carnitine

  • Fat molecules are too large to enter your cells' energy centres on their own
  • A carrier molecule called Carnitine attaches to each fat molecule and escorts it across the cell membrane
  • A gatekeeper protein controls how many fat molecules can enter per minute, this is the real bottleneck
  • Carnitine is recycled immediately after each delivery, ready to pick up the next one
  • Taking L-Carnitine supplements rarely helps, your body already makes enough. The real limit is how active the gatekeeper is, not how much carnitine you have.
The Furnace

Beta-Oxidation

  • Once inside the energy centre, fat goes through a repeating breakdown cycle
  • Each cycle strips off a small piece of fat and converts it into usable energy
  • The leftover fragments feed into a second energy cycle, producing even more power
  • This is where most of your fat calories are actually converted into fuel
